Autumn leaves birthday

Happy New Years everyone!! The company has gone the tree is down and we are getting back into routine here!! So I thought it was time to post my first card of the new year!! This card I've made for an upcoming class at the local scrap store!!

Wanted to make a card using those fabulous Autumn leaves from wplus9. Also wanted some bright bold colours so I pulled out the Ranger dye ink pads (caribbean coast and lily pad) ! I wanted a bigger sentiment once all the leaves were stamped so I pulled out strictly sentiments 5 to do the job! Love how vibrant it turned out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Wish Big

Heres another one I did on vacation…yup was in a total ink blending mode for sure…

When I started this card I really didn't have any idea where it would end up! I first stamped the linen background stamp in kraft. Just wanted to do some layers I suppose. Then came out the ink blending. Did a little bit bolder with the colours then on the last card I did. once I was done with the inking I just fell in love with it! Was so textured for a only being one layer! I then decided to die cut the wish, did that 3 times to bump it up a little added some DMC thread under and glued it all down. Of course had to add some glossy accents over top…debated stamping the big on there but happy I did! Just a super simple card to create with lots of dimension!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

wishing

While I was away on vacation I was able to craft with a couple of my favourite people!!! Was so nice to be together and create away! Thankfully we can text now a days and its kinda like being together!! Heres one of the creations I made!

My original thought with this background stamp was to water colour…till we were all sitting around the table with "limited" supplies and non of us had brought any versa mark, embossing powered or the heat gun for that matter…so Had dot take a different approach! Stamped this bad boy in some ranger archival ink and did some ink blending. The inks used for this card are PTI…wanted to try them out as I don't own any! And they blend very lovely together….Cause the background is so busy wanted to keep the rest of the card simple…wrapped the card front in some vellum and stamped the sentiment on it…then die cut wishing a few things to make it pop up a bit. Of course there needed to be some sequins on there to just for a bit of shimmer!!

It was an easy card that came together. I did another one exactly the same but used the sending die and a different sentiment instead!!

Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for popping in!

shaped cards

Good day everyone!! So I had a moment last night to make some cards! I wanted to get inky so I pulled out those fabulous distress inks and went to town!! Well sort off…didn't get to adventurous with the colour combos but was fun non the less!! I was also inspired to do a circle card after seeing Kristina Werners the other day!!! Which then of course turned into making a square card to!

Gotta say making a different shape card then the good old standard size was fun!!! Will pull out the envelope punch board and make me some pretty envelopes to go with!!

For both cards all I did was apply 3 different distress ink colours to my craft mat, spritz with water and placed the water colour paper in it moved it around a little. Once it was dried I went back in to get some of the add more colour around on there. Once I was happy with all the spots I then took some water to pull the colour out some more…dried it with my heat gun then added the sentiment over top! And of course spritzed it with some shimmer cause you can never have enough shimmer in my books!!!! I then took out my dies and started die cutting away!  For the square card I die cut the sentiment a bit to small for my liking so I matted it onto anther square, and just took my distress ink and added colour around the edges… Put on a few sequins and called er good!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

go on and celebrate!!

This year I've set some new goals for myself in my world of card making…one is to make some to do lists with different products or ideas I have!! One of the things I've wanted to do for some time now is make a card with stars…Its not a normal go to for me so I pulled out some stuff and went to town with stars!!!

This card was pretty quick to to do! My favourite kind!! I pulled out some distress ink colours I wanted then placed the star stencil over my card stock. Started with the lightest colour and went to the darkest. I wanted to keep it simple and the this big bold sentiment was the best way to add detail without adding a lot more to the card!! I did shimmer mist the card front (can't tell in picture unfortunately). After the sentiment was on there I thought it needed some different stars to add some interest so I took this little bundle from the same stamp set and stamped them in black! After wards added some sequins for a touch more detail, mounted it on some black card stock and this is the finished product!!! Hope you enjoy todays card!

kick ass birthday!

Hey everyone!! Heres a super quick and easy card I put together using Wplus9 So 80s set!! This set is fun to use, makes clean and simple masculine cards!

For this card I did a bit of fussy cutting of the "kick ass" and "how your day is" adhered them after I had stamped the back ground image! Cut the paper down to make sure I had the grey side and that is all! Pretty straight forward card!! I love how it turned out!!

whole lotta happy

This card I put together for the Stamptember blog hop Wednesday Challenge! I decided to go with a whole lotta happy kind of card for the challenge just cause thats what I think of when I think of Stamptember!

This card was pretty easy to put together!! I did a bit of masking with the balloons to make them into that cluster…stamped the strings, clear heat embossed over the happy a few times (got to say thats my fav technique these days! Just love how it turns out). Adhered that then added the words around it. Pretty simple card to to!!

Happy Stamptember to you all!!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

retro birthday

Good Morning!! Its been a while since my last post and the sun was finally shining today so it was a good time to take some photos of a few of my latest creations. Todays card is taking you back old school!! Between the colours or even the layout (for me anyway…was a classic when I was first starting out)…

For this card I really had no idea where it was going. I was crafting with my friend Natasha and she was using these colours for a different card….I figured they were out on the table I should use them too!!! After I had the border all stamped I needed a fun image to go with the look! I pulled out this new Wplus9 set and smiled!!!! Love its retro yet fall look!!!

Hope you enjoy! And thanks so much for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday scraps

Happy weekend everyone!! Hope its going good for you all! Today I thought I would post these cards I made a while back before I head into my craft studio and do a little bit of cleaning and maybe some more organizing!

These cards were pretty easy to make and the best part about them is its a 2 in 1 card!! I was going through some of my card stock and found all these scrap papers so I decided to cut them up into strips and add them to a card front. Once all the pieces were adhered I pulled out a couple of dies that I wanted to use. First was the labels framelits from Stampin Up! then a smaller butterfly from memory box to fit inside. I did this on both cards which made it possible for the 2 in 1…I then stamped the sentiment on the front and then popped it all up with dimensionals! Was a super easy super quick card to do with lots of detail!! Loved how they both turned out!!

Thanks all for today!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

you're so cool

Heres a quick card I made using the August Simon Says Stamp card kit. My oldest son is going to a birthday pool party so I thought this was the perfect fit!!!

Was a pretty simple card to put together. I stamped the images on the water colour paper and used distress inks mixed with water to to colour in the images. I decided to leave a gap in the paper and white heat embossed the sentiment and under it stamped happy birthday. Took me a few tries on the placement of the summer snacks but I think it works!!

Now on to stretch your stamps day 2 homework!!

old meets new

I was given a challenge from one of my good friend Natasha's (check her blog out here) fiancé. He comes up with some pretty interesting ones, but this one I decided to join in on the fun!! It is the oldest with the newest stamp set. I'm pretty sure I no longer have my oldest stamp set, not even sure what that might be. But I certainly do remember buying the one I used in this card (happy everything). It was a very big decision for me. I didn't' want to just buy any old stamp had to be something I knew would be very versatile! And looks like it still has it!!

I had a few new stamp sets join my collection in the recent weeks but this set (so very grateful) was the perfect one to go with the sentiment!!

I'm very happy with how it turned out!! So soft and gentle!

geometrics

I love the look of geometrics. It always catches my eye!! I just didn't realize how out of the box it would feel for me to actually make a card with it!

I had the birthday die cut left over from this card and didn't want it to go to to waste. I pulled out my new Wplus9 inks and started stamping triangles and this is how it turned out!! I added a few other colours and even popped a few of them up for some added dimension.

Well I hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by!!

splatter fun

This week I finally had some time to make a couple cards! I watched Papertrey Inks Make it Monday video and was inspired!! I pulled out some colours and went to town!!! My first creation using this technique was this card below...

I grabbed some bright colours…On the make it monday video they used a die cut inlay. A technique I have not yet tried so I put it to good use! Love how it turned out!! So much fun to  make!

Supplies:
Paper: melon mambo, white
Ink: calyso coral, melon mambo, rose red
Stamps: wonderful words birthday mini
Accessories: birthday die, paint brush and water, sponge daubers

Next up I made this card….

This weeks Clean and Simple sketch screamed out to me! Love this layout…a go to for me! I decided to flip in on its side tho, still using the make it monday technique. However with the water droplets on this card I did at random by putting water on the brush and flicking it as opposed to being purposeful to where I was adding the water. This beautiful colour combo comes from this weeks Colour Me…!  challenge, they blended together so nicely (after a few tries of course)..The sentiment was heat embossed in white then I stamped the feather behind the three window boxes which goes along side the CAS-ual Friday challenge. Then I popped up the coloured paper to five some dimension. So many quick details to give it that pretty look!!!

Supplies:
Paper: white
Ink: bermuda bay, coastal cabana, pacific point, tempting turquoise, versa mark
Stamps: fancy feathers
Accessories: white embossing powder, square punch, paint brush with water

Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by!

And the second card I realized I had bought the purple paper a couple months ago and hadn't opened it yet…a good excuse for both creations I think!!

water color feathers

I have a feather fetish going on right now!! These Wplus9 ones are making me want to make every card with some sort of feather on it!!!

I used a couple techniques on this card!! And I have to say I love it! (Yes tooting my own horn!)  For the feathers I used water color paper using 2 shades of yellow and gray... then took the feather die and cut them out. Went in different directions with the die to give the feathers their own unique look! Used some smooch spray and called it good!!!

Hope you are all having a great day! I am currently enjoying some quiet time as my older 2 are at school all day and my littlest man is taking a nap!!
