I just love embossing...gives such fun texture to a card! And this new MFT background stamp shows just that!!!
There are so many things that you can do with this wonderful stamp...but for my first crack with it I decided to keep it simple! Some ranger platinum embossing powder on some white card stock and called it good! I also embossed the thanks a couple times over as well with the embossing powder so it would have that perfect match!!
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoy!!

One layer fun!
Hey everyone hope you've had a wonderful week!! Todays card is a pretty quick one layer card! My favourite kinds to do! (well the quick part anyway). And if you follow me at all you will notice i'm in love with making my own background paper!!! Todays card is no different!
To start this card off I first stamped the sentiment so it would be easier to place the other images around it (sentiment is Simon Says Stamp). Once that was stamped I went around and stamped all the other floral images from Wplus9 Doodle Buds stamp set. After that was completed I then flipped the stamps the other way onto my block to get the solid image, they don't all match and I'm good with that! I used Wplu9 pure colour dye inks (they are really my fav but honestly any ink would work for this technique). And there you have my card for today!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Just love the simplicity of this card! I made it for my upcoming glass this month I'm doing and it was also in all my teacher gift pkgs…
I ended up doing a little masking for this card when I added the detailed part of the butterfly…you can see I had just stamped the peach colour right over the purple, but for the detailed part I had cut out the top wing of the smaller butterfly and placed it on then stamped the details on the purple one! I also used ombre inks for this card. Just another great way how versatile they are! Having the 3 colours in one!! Added the sentiment and of course a little wink of stella on the butterfly details and called it good!!

Summertime Thanks
Long time no post wow!! Didn't realize its been a month! I got so caught up getting cards done for the flower shop over mothers day that I just have been ignoring my blog all together…
So after this card there will be some more down time for me as we are moving into our house in a week!! Had to get this sketch card in before it all gets packed away for a while!!
The sketch is from this weeks Clean and Simple Stamping site!! I had so much fun bring out some bright colours (some new Stampin Up! in colours that will be available come June 1 in the mix there too)…
This is my take on the sketch!! I hope you enjoy!!

spring thank you
Just thought I would post this quick little card I made…it ended up being a cute little square(ish) card cause I need to chop off the bottom half cause I wasn't happy with it…and didn't want to waste or start from scratch!
When making this card I also too a look on my desk to see if there was anything I could salvage. I had this grey cardstock already stamped with the pinstripes in a grey as well…so I took some scrap white card stock i had laying around and stamped the flowers and leaves!! Cut them out by hand arranged them on the card then did some stamping around it!! pretty easy peasy!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

botanical colouring
Happy weekend everyone!! I decided to take some me time and attempt to craft. Its been a while since I've had some dedicated time to do that. Got to say it feels good getting back at it again
For todays card I thought I would finally attempt to colour. Honestly this is my very first go at it. I'm sure with more practice I will get better!!! (or I hope to anyway)
Due to the fact I'm not a colourer, I don't really have many stamps that are good for doing so! I recently did a Wplus9 order and loved this botanical set!! Saw many possibilities (most with water colouring if I'm being honest) and knew it had to be added to my collection. I also knew that I wanted to pop up the bigger flowers….
I started off stamping the image and colouring the flowers then cut them out. After that I die cut the white card stock and restamped the image on there and proceeded to colour as well. Once that was all done I too the flowers I had cut out added some wink of stella to the middle and bumped them up with some foam tape. Once that was all together I then added some glossy accents…I also stamped the sentiment on there too!! Cant forget that! Once I completed the white panel I then die cut the black scalped edge piece added I then glued the white card stock to it. I went back and forth on a pink or purple card base and once that was decided I then popped up the black with some foam tape.
Considering it was my first time colouring the card all in all didn't take me to long to make!! And even tho my husband says it looks like a grandma card I'm pleased with the outcome!!! Hope you do to!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thanks
Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday to you!!! Here is a card I made using multiple die cut words to give it that dimension!! I saw this technique from the one and only Jennifer McGuire (click here for video tutorial)…thought it might be to much work but just loved how it look!! And not gonna lie, was a tiny bit of work...don't know if it is a technique I will do often...but wow I love it!
So that is my card for today! Make sure to check out Jennifers video (she does a much better job of explaining then I ever could)...

Note of thanks
Todays card is brought to you by a mix of the techniques we've been learning over the past few days with the Stretch your Stamps online card class. I was out of town for a couple days so I wasn't able to play much!! Had fun with this card tho!!
I really wanted to use the stamped words in an image. So I decided to to do the that but in a different way. I die cut the feather out, then on a scrap piece of white paper I traced out the feather image so I knew where I would have to stamp over. Once done stamping the sentiment repeatedly I adhered it in behind my die cut feather. For the other 2 feathers I die cut them out and heat embossed them. And for some added detail I went in a coloured them with the very limited amount of distress markers I had. I was going to use colouring markers for it but I wanted a more softer look. So once I was done colouring I misted the paper to have the distress ink do its magic, then added some white twine to tie them together!! I added the Thank you sentiment with the same embossing powder I used for the feathers. Once I had that card front adhered to the white panel I decided to do add the black piece on the back. I took a border stamp and clear embossed the image on it so it was subtle but still there!!
And thats my card for the day!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Keep calm and sip on!
I was given a challenge by a friend of mine who just started selling Steeped Tea. She was looking for some thank you cards to give out to hostesses after having a party, and her slogan was "keep calm and drink tea". She asked if I could find something like that to use. I searched the web and came across this lovely set from Fresh Squeezed Stamps. I'm personally a sucker for anything coffee related as it is, but having a real excuse to order made it so much better!!!
My goal was to keep the card simple but also wanted to give her a a couple options…I loved the simplicity of this design so I stuck with it!!! Hope she enjoys them as much as I did making them!!

Now to paint some of the furniture pieces that need to go in there then organize organize organize!! But I must say its good to not me crafting at a table in my master bedroom anymore! Think my husband is more happy about that than me as my table was on his side of of the bed....he often found beautiful paper scraps all over the place!!!
So the first card I'm going to post for you is my Clean and Simple card for this weeks challenge! I've sure missed contributing so its nice to be back!!!

For this card I was stamping with some friends and we had made some shimmer mist! Hard to tell in the picture but I sprayed some on the black (it has a greenish hugh to it) and just some classic white shimmery on the white paper! This was one of the techniques from the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire weekend!
Well thats all for today!! Hope you all had a great summer and if your kids aren't yet back to school a great back to school for them too!!!

Thank you making machine!
Yesterday all I can say is that I was a card making machine!! I was asked to do the thank you cards for the same person who ordered the wedding shower invitations (here). She wanted something simple but elegant...
I was wanting them to somewhat look like they belonged to the invites so I spent my afternoon cutting out this doily. Seriously took me all afternoon then into the evening of punching out all the holes!! Thank goodness for the tip on the package suggesting wax paper to help seperate the die from the paper! Worked like a charm!!
Now that all 70 are made, this order is ready to be shipped on out!!!

Wow this is the first card I've made all week! The joys of spring break and having kids home 24/7. Can't say I'm to sad to be getting back into our everyday routine!
For this weeks Clean and Simple sketch I was at a loss totally (think cause I haven't been all that creative this week). Then I put some papers together pulled out the stamps sets I had laying on my table and came up with this creation!

I really wanted to pull out the vellum. Have had a few conversations about it as of late and I found it in one of my rubbermaid totes and got every excited!!! So stamped the flowers with versa mark used clear embossing powder to make it almost stain glass like and it all came together!! Hope you enjoy!!!
