CAS(E) #141

Good day everyone!! Hope you're all doing well! I have a card for you today that was brought on by CAS(E) This sketch and the colour combo was from my friend Natasha! I had shown her all the new Wplus9 inks. I had just stamped them all out to check out the range of colour and she found a combo and asked me if I would make a card using it!! Here is my creation!!

Well with just getting the new inks and this fabulous leaf set (autumn leaves) in the mail I knew that I needed to become this sketch!!

Before I started anything I die cut the square (from stitched square stax) and placed it on my card where I thought I wanted it. I then traced around it to help me know where to stamp the leaves so they would show up behind the square!

Once that was done I started with the outlined leaves, stamped both images. Once they were stamped I then went onto the solid image. I wanted ti to be offset so you could really see the outline of the leaves as well! Once that was done it still didn't seem finished to me so I then added the smaller leaf images to it!

For the sentiment I die cut the blessed die 3 times out of white card stock. I wanted it to be the Falling for Blue ink (and seriously such a beauty that one) so I smushed the ink pad over one if the dies before gluing them together! Of course its also covered in some wink of stellla cause who doesn't love some glitter. For the rest of the sentiment I cut up one from the doodle buds set and stamped around where the blessed die cut could be.

Of course I popped up the square with the sentiment, cut the panel down and then mounted it on a white card base! Thats my card for today! I really hope you enjoy!

(other inks used were pumpkin spice, wild mango and warm wool all by Wplus9)

Striped thanks

Heres a card I made for the PTI Stamp-A-Faire a few weeks ago.  Just didn't get a chance till now to post

This was from Laura Bassens sting challenge. Had a lot of fun with this card! I took the super stripes border dies from Papertrey Ink and placed them all in a row on block. I then inked them with versa mark ink and stamped my way along the front panel. Once that was complete I then took some Hero Arts white embossing powder covered the panel tapped it off then zapped it with my heat gun! Once it dried I grabbed some distress inks and started blending (lost lagoon, peacock feathers, tumbled glass and cracked pistachio) Once it was all blended I just added a few water droplets to the front of the panel and soaked them up with a paper towel! while I was waiting for that to fully dry I die cut 3 of the thanks dies and glued them all together and went over it with some distress ink as wellI had some spiced marmalade on my fingers which transferred to the word then I added some picked raspberry as well! Fun how those mishaps end up looking so sharp! Once that I was done I next took some silver DMC thread and unraveled it onto the card front..I played with it for a bit to make it look "messy" then glued my word die down over top and of course added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins to the front as well! Attached it all to a card base and thats how she got done!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy my card even if its a little later then the original challenge!!!

Have a beautiful day (august pin sites challenge)

The last few days Ive had some time to go and create…most cause my kids were out playing in the dirt pile before it disappeared (if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen the pics!)

I was in need of some inspiration and Ellen Hutson was posting pics from their latest challenge and some fabulous cards out there I tell you! August Pin Sites challenge! So heres my take on it!

When I started this card I pulled out the colours from the challenge…started with the pink, stamped 3 of the bigger flowers (Bold Blooms) then the yellow and the leaves thrown in there to fill in the spots! I knew I wanted to do the vellum overlay but with just the stamped image it wasn't enough (in my minds eye). So I had out my ink blending tools and just added some of the same colour to the just in a lighter way to  each of the flowers and leaves. I then adhered the vellum panel over top with some stick it paper stamped the sentiment and after those 2 pieces were together I trimmed down the panel to 4 wide and the regular 5.5 long. found some fun paper for the side (it came in one of the simon says stamps card kits) added some  Pretty Pink Posh sequins on top the vellum and was completely happy with the final project!

Sorry for the long ramble! Hope you enjoy!!

Hugs

So heres the last card I put together while on holidays this summer…if you've not noticed from the last 3 posts I was most defiantly on a black sentiment kick!! haha! Just so crisp and clean!

One of the girls I had my craft day with made a background with these beautiful Ellen Hutson stamps…so I figured I might do the same!! Pulled out my favourite Wplus9 inks and started random stamping. Wasn't sold on it till I added the PTI hugs die over top! Why don't I own that set! (thanks for sharing with me tho Natasha!) Anyway a pretty simple card that came together quick! I sure hope you enjoy!!

Wish Big

Heres another one I did on vacation…yup was in a total ink blending mode for sure…

When I started this card I really didn't have any idea where it would end up! I first stamped the linen background stamp in kraft. Just wanted to do some layers I suppose. Then came out the ink blending. Did a little bit bolder with the colours then on the last card I did. once I was done with the inking I just fell in love with it! Was so textured for a only being one layer! I then decided to die cut the wish, did that 3 times to bump it up a little added some DMC thread under and glued it all down. Of course had to add some glossy accents over top…debated stamping the big on there but happy I did! Just a super simple card to create with lots of dimension!

wishing

While I was away on vacation I was able to craft with a couple of my favourite people!!! Was so nice to be together and create away! Thankfully we can text now a days and its kinda like being together!! Heres one of the creations I made!

My original thought with this background stamp was to water colour…till we were all sitting around the table with "limited" supplies and non of us had brought any versa mark, embossing powered or the heat gun for that matter…so Had dot take a different approach! Stamped this bad boy in some ranger archival ink and did some ink blending. The inks used for this card are PTI…wanted to try them out as I don't own any! And they blend very lovely together….Cause the background is so busy wanted to keep the rest of the card simple…wrapped the card front in some vellum and stamped the sentiment on it…then die cut wishing a few things to make it pop up a bit. Of course there needed to be some sequins on there to just for a bit of shimmer!!

It was an easy card that came together. I did another one exactly the same but used the sending die and a different sentiment instead!!

Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much for popping in!

blessed

Hey everyone! I'm back after a way to long of break!! We are now all moved in and pretty much settled into our new house!! And got to say it feels so good to be back to crafting! Wasn't to sure how it would go! Well if I'm being honest I sure did get a lot of glue all over the place!!

This card is made for the Clean and Simple stamping blog. Make sure you go check it out cause we would sure love to see what you create!!

I really wanted to keep this card simple and I soooo wanted to use the new sketched roses background stamp from Impression Obsession. I stamped tone on tone for the back ground then added a little side panel with pink on white…wasn't to sure how it would turn out but I like it!! Die cut 3 blessed glued them together and of course had to add some glossy accents! Pretty straight forward card! Good one for my first in over a month I think!!

Anyway make sure to head on over to the clean and simple blog and show us your creations!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

The sketch is from this weeks Clean and Simple Stamping site!! I had so much fun bring out some bright colours (some new Stampin Up! in colours that will be available come June 1 in the mix there too)…

Mothers Day shaker card fun

Hey everyone!! Well its getting closer to that special month where we celebrate all you wonderful moms out there!!!

So for years now I've been making cards for Academy Florists in Winnipeg MB. They have some wonderful ladies in there are beyond talented when it comes to flower arrangements!! I'm always so honoured they want to share my cards with their beautiful creations!!!

Mothers Day is a super buys time for them…heres a peek at one of the cards Ive recently made for the shop!!!

I recently jumped on the bandwagon of shaker cards and I can't seem to jump off!!! they are just so fun to do!!

This one was pretty easy to put together! Using that butterfly frame die from Wplus9. I stamped the sentiment on acetate using white stazon ink…my first time ever and I'm in love!!!! Will for sure be seeing more of that!!!

Once all the pieces were die cut stamped and glued together,  I added 2 layers of foam tape on the back on the shaker box part…filled it with some fun sequins. Once it was on the card I added the silver butterfly just for some added depth to it!! A pretty clean and simple yet interactive card!!!

spring thank you

Just thought I would post this quick little card I made…it ended up being a cute little square(ish) card cause I need to chop off the bottom half cause I wasn't happy with it…and didn't want to waste or start from scratch!

When making this card I also too a look on my desk to see if there was anything I could salvage. I had this grey cardstock already stamped with the pinstripes in a grey as well…so I took some scrap white card stock i had laying around and stamped the flowers and leaves!! Cut them out by hand arranged them on the card then did some stamping around it!! pretty easy peasy!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

sending sunshine

I think spring is finally among us!! The snow is almost gone, lots of puddles for the kids to splash in…so I thought I would pull out this super cute set from Wplus9 to celebrate!!!

This card is not my typical go to kind of card but how could you not love all the elements used for it to come together!!!!  Originally I had used the stencil on the whole white piece but I really didn't like it going out onto the scalloped edge so I die cut that piece out!!! After I had done that the card just came together. I die cut the sunshine and inked some tumbled glass distress ink. I ended up having some of the yellow still on my fingers from the sunburst but the colour combo was just to pretty…I did the same mixture for the back panel as well!!! After the ink was on the sunshine I knew it needed some wink of stella, cause really what card doesn't need a little glitter!! I die cut the clouds out of white and vellum, however I only used the white ones for this card. I needed to decide on placement for all the pieces so I played around a bit…once I got everything just right I wanted that sunshine to stand out even more! I proceeded to die cut 3 more out and glue them all together. Once everything was adhered to the card I got out the good ol glossy accents, went over the sunshine as well as the cloud outlines!!! And thats pretty much all there is to this card!!!

partial die cut mom

Hey Everyone!! Hope everyones good today!! Here some more cards from the latest Online Card Class…I'm really liking these fun interactive cards!

It took  me a while to find the right die, in the video Julie Ebersole said that block letters work the best with this technique…however I don't have any big enough in my stash….but this one actually worked out really well, probably cause its all one  height. i did have to cut out the the space under the letters to make it proper tho!! (easy peasy with that good ol craft knife). I decided to use patterned paper for the card instead of stamping. I had an idea in  mind of how I wanted it to look and this was the easiest way for me to achieve that!!

Anyway hope you enjoy and I hope you had as much fun in class as I did!! Thanks for stopping by!!

botanical colouring

Happy weekend everyone!! I decided to take some me time and attempt to craft. Its been a while since I've had some dedicated time to do that. Got to say it feels good getting back at it again

For todays card I thought I would finally attempt to colour. Honestly this is my very first go at it. I'm sure with more practice I will get better!!! (or I hope to anyway)

Due to the fact I'm not a colourer, I don't really have many stamps that are good for doing so! I recently did a Wplus9 order and loved this botanical set!! Saw many possibilities (most with water colouring if I'm being honest) and knew it had to be added to my collection. I also knew that I wanted to pop up the bigger flowers….

I started off stamping the image and colouring the flowers then cut them out. After that I die cut the white card stock and restamped the image on there and proceeded to colour as well. Once that was all done I too the flowers I had cut out added some wink of stella to the middle and bumped them up with some foam tape. Once that was all together I then added some glossy accents…I also stamped the sentiment on there too!! Cant forget that! Once I completed the white panel I then die cut the black scalped edge piece added I then glued the white card stock to it. I went back and forth on a pink or purple card base and once that was decided I then popped up the black with some foam tape.

Considering it was my first time colouring the card all in all didn't take me to long to make!! And even tho my husband says it looks like a grandma card I'm pleased with the outcome!!! Hope you do to!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
