shaker fun!

So this is my first ever shaker card!! I was so intimidated to make it but when it came time to finally get it done, and it actually turned out exactly how I pictured in my head!! Thats always a bonus!!!

My boys are in a wedding this week and this is the card I made for them! (I know she won't be checking my blog today with getting ready and all…) When was thinking about this card I knew this memory box die would be perfect! I first got inky when my distress inks did the classic splatter with a few different mediums then I cut out the hearts. I then cut the hearts out of silver paper to add over top of the shaker part!! Needed to be done to complete the hearts!! Considering the detail thats in the card it came together rather quickly!! I love how it turned out!!! It also fits well with this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!! Theres for sure more than enough bling in there!! :)

Anyway, Thanks so much for stopping by!! Hope you enjoy and I can see more shaker cards in my future!!!

clean and simple merry

Hey everyone!! Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!! Todays cards are brought to you by this weeks Clean and Simple sketch, make sure to head on over there and check it out for sure!!!

This card came together pretty quickly. I first started off by die cutting out the poinsettias. Once that was done I then stamped the image onto the die cut. At first that was my only plan for the card but I thought it needed a little more detail to it. So I decided to stamp the larger poinsettia imagine first in green to act as leaves behind the die cut image. Once they were stamped I then added clear wink of stella to all the flowers and small pearl just for some detail! I used some foam tape popped the flowers on top of the green stamped image. For the sentiment I die cut merry out of gold foil paper. I just loved the shine of it. Once that part was done I couldn't decide if I wanted to mount the card front onto some more gold foil paper to match or a different colour. I flipped flopped a lot but so happy I went with black and let the words shine on their own!! I also added some ink of stella to the black outline to pull it all in with sparkle!!!

I really hope you enjoy todays card and please make sure to head on over to the Clean and Simple blog, we would LOVE to see your take on this weeks sketch!!!

falling snow

I was sitting in my very clean craft room last night wondering what to create!! So I pulled out the November Simon Says Stamp card kit and started to play.

Was seeing a lot of rainbow type cards so I thought I would give that a try too!!

So really this card is quick to put together. I found some ink colours I liked and just started to stamp and see how they looked next to each other…I overlapped the bottom portion of the tree with each stamp as well!!  I then stamped the greeting in black and went over it with clear embossing just to have it stand out a touch more! After that was done the card needed a little something. Everyone has been using the falling snow stencil from SSS and I'm sooo sad I don't have it so I improvised a bit. I took the falling snow flake stamp from the set and inked it up with versa mark. My firs attempt was with iridescent embossing powder but I wasn't happy with that look, so I pulled out the perfect pearls. Give that subtle shine and a touch more detail!! After that was done I wiped off the excess trimmed the card front and added it to a white card base.

Another pretty quick one to mass produce!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Merry watercolour

Hey Everyone and Happy Remembrance  day to you! Back today with some more Wplus9 !! Again I'm just loving this snowflake backdrop set!! So many great things you can do with it!!

For todays card I did a little bit of water colouring…I took 3 colours of distress ink and rubbed them on the stamp and made sure to overlap a little. Once I had the whole stamp covered I took my spritzer bottle and did a few spritzes over the stamp. Once I saw it was all wet I then stamped it down onto some water colour paper. I was impatient so I heat set it with my heat gun. Once it was dry I remembered on one of Dawns cards she had glitter embossed over the background so I gave that a whirl!!! I then white heat embossed the sentiment on the bottom of the card and was going to call it good…then I decided to pull out the deer dies die cut this one out of pink paper and then covered it with glossy accents! I was wanting the card to be extra bold and I think all that glitter and shimmer did just that!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! See ya again soon!!

merry merry joy joy

Hello everyone! Sorry for the LONG break! Its been a busy couple of months with selling our house and moving! But we are slowly getting settled in to the new place and city for that matter!!

So to celebrate the move I ordered me some new goodies!!! Today I will be showing you some easy cards to mass produce with Wplus9 stamps.

I just loved this background snowflake die along with the aperture dies. My original plan was to just make it a one layer card…however I ended up trimming the top part down a little and popping it up on a white card base!

I also couldn't decide what colour I wanted to use so I pulled out all my W9 inks and stamped most of the colours..still not to sure which one I like the most!! They are all so pretty!

For the sentiment I also pulled out another Wplus9 set and heat embossed over top the snowflakes. I used 3 different colours just to add some variety, as well as some got joy and some got merry!!

Was super fun to make and a pretty quick card to mass produce for holiday cards!!

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!!

CTS93

When I saw this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch online I knew exactly what I wanted to use to make this card!!!! And it turned out even better in real life than what I pictured in my head!! Love it when that happens!!

To make this card I started off running a piece of white cardstock through my bigshot using the PTI snowflake impression plate. After I did that I knew that I wanted to bump it up on another piece of plain cardstock so I trimmed it down!! I then die cut the square snowflake from Simon Says Stamp out of glitter card stock. I wasn't to sure what I should stamp the sentiment on…I first tried vellum but then decided to keep it clean and simple with the white across….stamped the Merry Christmas on there then added it to the card front. Same with the square die cut. After those were all in place I pulled out my PPP sequins and placed them on the card!!! And there you have it! Pretty straight forward!! Just love this sketch tho, so many opportunities with it!!!

you got this!!

I was going through different blogs this morning and came across the CASE Study Challenge blog. Ive seen the wonderful cards from this blog before but was always intimidated by it for whatever reason. Really after thinking about it, isn't this how us card makers make cards?? We see other cards and make our own version of it?? Well thats what I did today!! I had feathers on the brain so I ran with it!!!

I recently got these new feather dies and wanted to put them to use!! So to start I had actually die cut both sizes of the feathers out of scrap white paper and vellum, then decided that I wanted to die cut it out of the card front and do so inlaying. I angled it a little cause I wanted the feathers to look like they were tied. I thought the bigger white feather needed to be a little more poppy so I pulled out my perfect pearls and painted it. I did the same with the vellum feather as well!! I then added my sentiment with white embossing powder, then set the other feathers down on top once I had tied them together. Thought it needed a little something else and so I drew on the stitched markings. Not a norm for me but added that little detail I felt was missing. And of course some sequins!!!

I rally like how it turned out and today for the first time wasn't initiated by this challenge!! Hope you all take the time to check it out!!

Thanks

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday to you!!! Here is a card I made using multiple die cut words to give it that dimension!! I saw this technique from the one and only Jennifer McGuire (click here for video tutorial)…thought it might be to much work but just loved how it look!! And not gonna lie, was a tiny bit of work...don't know if it is a technique I will do often...but wow I love it!

So that is my card for today! Make sure to check out Jennifers video (she does a much better job of explaining then I ever could)...

For this card I did a bit of fussy cutting of the "kick ass" and "how your day is" adhered them after I had stamped the back ground image! Cut the paper down to make sure I had the grey side and that is all! Pretty straight forward card!! I love how it turned out!!

This card I put together for the Stamptember blog hop Wednesday Challenge! I decided to go with a whole lotta happy kind of card for the challenge just cause thats what I think of when I think of Stamptember!

This card was pretty easy to put together!! I did a bit of masking with the balloons to make them into that cluster…stamped the strings, clear heat embossed over the happy a few times (got to say thats my fav technique these days! Just love how it turns out). Adhered that then added the words around it. Pretty simple card to to!!

retro birthday

Good Morning!! Its been a while since my last post and the sun was finally shining today so it was a good time to take some photos of a few of my latest creations. Todays card is taking you back old school!! Between the colours or even the layout (for me anyway…was a classic when I was first starting out)…

For this card I really had no idea where it was going. I was crafting with my friend Natasha and she was using these colours for a different card….I figured they were out on the table I should use them too!!! After I had the border all stamped I needed a fun image to go with the look! I pulled out this new Wplus9 set and smiled!!!! Love its retro yet fall look!!!

Hope you enjoy! And thanks so much for stopping by!!

Perfect Pear

Happy Monday everyone!!! So I have another card for you!!! Its for this weeks Clean and Simple sketch, make sure to go check it out!! Its awesome as always!!

The first thing I did to make this card was die cut one pear and start water colouring it. I used a couple of distress ink. After the one was done, I realized I better do another one so it would go with the sentiment!! After I had coloured the pears I set them aside to dry and pulled out the dots stencil. I used my ink tool with some distress ink as well to add the yellow colour! Once that was done I decided to trim down the card front so I could add the border along the side! Just for a little more detail!! Once I heat embossed that I then adhered the white card front down. At this time my pears were mostly dry so I zapped it a little with my heat tool to make sure they were completely dried. Then placed them on my card front along with the "you" die cut so I knew where I needed to stamp the rest of the sentiment. After everything was adhered I had to of course add some sequins cause a card just isn't finished without them right??? And there you have it!!

Hope you enjoy and please make sure to pop over to Clean and Simple Stamping and do this weeks sketch challenge!!

Happy Birthday scraps

Happy weekend everyone!! Hope its going good for you all! Today I thought I would post these cards I made a while back before I head into my craft studio and do a little bit of cleaning and maybe some more organizing!

These cards were pretty easy to make and the best part about them is its a 2 in 1 card!! I was going through some of my card stock and found all these scrap papers so I decided to cut them up into strips and add them to a card front. Once all the pieces were adhered I pulled out a couple of dies that I wanted to use. First was the labels framelits from Stampin Up! then a smaller butterfly from memory box to fit inside. I did this on both cards which made it possible for the 2 in 1…I then stamped the sentiment on the front and then popped it all up with dimensionals! Was a super easy super quick card to do with lots of detail!! Loved how they both turned out!!

Thanks all for today!! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Note of thanks

Todays card is brought to you by a mix of the techniques we've been learning over the past few days with the Stretch your Stamps online card class. I was out of town for a couple days so I wasn't able to play much!! Had fun with this card tho!!

I really wanted to use the stamped words in an image. So I decided to to do the that but in a different way. I die cut the feather out, then on a scrap piece of white paper I traced out the feather image so I knew where I would have to stamp over. Once done stamping the sentiment repeatedly I adhered it in behind my die cut feather. For the other 2 feathers I die cut them out and heat embossed them. And for some added detail I went in a coloured them with the very limited amount of distress markers I had. I was going to use colouring markers for it but I wanted a more softer look. So once I was done colouring I misted the paper to have the distress ink do its magic, then added some white twine to tie them together!! I added the Thank you sentiment with the same embossing powder I used for the feathers. Once I had that card front adhered to the white panel I decided to do add the black piece on the back. I took a border stamp and clear embossed the image on it so it was subtle but still there!!

And thats my card for the day!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

faded hello

Hey everyone!! Back again with another card I created for the Online Card Class!! Having a fun time playing around with new ideas!!!

So for this card I decided to do the faded look.

For the background I had to yet again my my own using a border stamp from Fresh Squeezed stamp. I heat embossed it in clear then pulled the 3 shades of grey from Simon Says stamp and worked my way up the card darkest to lightest. After that was done I adhered the panel to black card stock. I decided due to the monochromatic background I needed a pop of colour, waffled over a few and went with this coral. I then punched out the flower shape and circle as well as the hello die. Wanted to give the hello a pop so I inked it over with grey then added some sparkle embossing powder over it. After the card was put together thought it still needed a little something so out came the clear wink of stella pen for some added sparkle!!

So Thats my card for today!! Thanks so  much for stopping by!

you're so cool

Heres a quick card I made using the August Simon Says Stamp card kit. My oldest son is going to a birthday pool party so I thought this was the perfect fit!!!

Was a pretty simple card to put together. I stamped the images on the water colour paper and used distress inks mixed with water to to colour in the images. I decided to leave a gap in the paper and white heat embossed the sentiment and under it stamped happy birthday. Took me a few tries on the placement of the summer snacks but I think it works!!

Now on to stretch your stamps day 2 homework!!

Together forever

Today is day one of the Stretch your Stamps online card class. Today they gave us some new ideas on how to use background stamps. While I was digging through my stash of stamps I realized that I don't actually own a background stamp….how is this possible?? Anyway, I did find some border stamps and decided to create my own background!

I pulled out Wplus9 quilt prints and on water colour paper (cause I was originally going to pull out the distress inks) I white heat embossed the pattern diagonally across the card front I had. Once it was all said and done I decided that I was going to spritz it instead of doing the water colouring. Took a while for it to saturate into the paper. Once it was dry I removed the original heat embossing I had done with my iron and a scrap paper! Gave it a clearer outline to where I had actually stamped. The mist didn't really resist as I thought it should!

For putting this first card together I decided that with the gold it needed to be an anniversary type card. Just seems classy to me! So I die cut the word together and then covered it with glossy accents and set it aside to dry. Then I cut a panel of my paper I created and place it on. Originally I only had 1 piece there but it didn't look right, thats when I added the second piece and put the small gap between. I then stamped forever add it to a black card base and once the glossy accents was dry added it to the card front!

For this card I took the leftover piece I had from the first card and die cut together. I just love the inlaid die cut look! Can't go wrong. So after I had die cut out of the water colour paper as well I glued down that piece onto the black card front. Pieced the words all together. Had thought about stamping something different but the forever just looks so right! I then trimmed what was left of the piece I had and add them to the card as well just for some extra detail!!

Hope everyone else enjoyed day one as much as I did!! Looking forward to so much more inspiration!

Christmas Bliss

First off I just have to say that I am so excited for this new Wplus9 release happening in a couple days!! The sets are just amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on them!!! And I'm also loving how they are doing their release!! They have a video technique each day that they showcase a new set. This card was inspired by the first day sneak peak here doing the bokeh made easy technique!

There were a couple things I did a little different on this card with regards to the sentiment. I had originally just stamped the black on the background once I was finished. However I didn't think it popped enough so I went over the image again with versa mark ink, then added clear embossing powder to give it a little more shine and bump it up!!

Please make sure you go and check out Dawns wonderful video it is worth it! I just love all the detail this card has and how easy it was to achieve!!

Hello embossing!

Hello everyone!! Hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to a lovely weekend! I know we are! Nice and hot here!!

Todays card has a couple of inspirations. First off this weeks Clean and Simple sketch that I design for as well as this wonderful video from non only that Jennifer McGuire

This card took  me a few attempts…I was moving colours around to see what worked..then on this last one I decided to grab which ever ink was closest and work my way out! Turned out not to bad I don't think ;) There was really no rhyme or reason to where I stamped or decided to over lay I just went for it!! After all the stamping of the triangles was done I wanted to matt this piece so instead of digging through my stash of paper I decided to use the purple ink I had used in the triangles. So I got out an ink blending tool and inked up the sides of the paper then adhered the top piece. In the clean and simple sketch there is a bow over top of the sentiment..I wasn't really sure that a bow would work with the geometric look I had going on, so I grabbed my white twine and started wrapping a left over piece I had. Then added a small bow…now onto the sentiment. My first attempt at the sentiment it was grey and I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, but once I had glued it onto the card it didn't pop again. And I used some pretty heavy duty adhesive so she wasn't coming off..so I took another die cut hello inked it black then did the same thing with the clear heat embossing and glued it on over. This card is also for the this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. But when it was all put together I looked it over and thought it needed some more embossing to it! So I took out the single triangle stamp from the set and picked a few random ones to clear emboss over! Its a very subtle detail but I love when it sparkles in the daylight.

I hope you enjoy todays card! Thanks so much for stopping by

Happy Anniversary!

I've been working on some anniversary cards for an order. And I don't know what is it about them that I get all worked up about. Suppose it could be the fact that the majority of cards made are birthdays and thank yous, so this one seems ever so intimidating!

I decided I wanted to make my own background by stamping. I don't have a whole lot of options for this so I pulled out an oldie from Fresh Squeezed stamps (sadly they are no longer around). I really like the way this stamp gives the paper a textured look! after stamping the first stamp in the middle of the card front I then pulled out the anniversary stamp. I could have made stamping that much easier by cutting the words apart but I'm just not brave enough yet to do that!! So I covered the word I wasn't stamping with washi tape inked up and stamped er down. After both happy and anniversary were stamped I knew where to stamp the about background leaving the white space there. Once that part was done I die cut the flowers and leaves stamped on them, then adhered it to the card base. Looks like a lot more work then it really was!!

Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by!

Thinking of you

Here is some more stencil action for you!! Just got these two new ones from Stampin Up! And I got to say I love them! They are so big compared to any others that I've used, and a very good price point too!!

These cards were pretty easy to put together. I temporarily adhered the card front to my craft mat placed the stencil over it taped it down with some washi tape and took my ink blender over it with the colours I wanted. Once that part was done, removed the stencil and stamped the sentiment. Then added some sequins! I then took a card base added some dimensionals not the back of it and adhered it to my card base! Another pretty quick and easy card with so many colour options!

Thats all for now and thanks so much for stopping by!

praying for you

so here is another sympathy card I made for an order I'm doing! I don't really make a ton of theses kind of cards so I had to go through all my stamps to see what I could find for sentiments. Thought this PTI one was perfect to give another options!!

For this card there was a few steps involved. First off, I heat embossed the tree image onto scrap paper cut them out and set aside. I then took the square die and die cut the natural paper.  Next up for the blue mat around the window, I took two square dies that fit into each other (one of them being the same size as the window that is on the natural paper) , place it on the paper once I had it aligned evenly I ran it through my bigshot and was able to make this border for around the window I created.  After all the die cutting was done I took the natural paper added the the blue border around it then stamped on my sentiment. Once that was all together I took the tree image with adhesive on the back side of it places it in the window then aligned the front part of the card on the card base, placed the tree image down added some dimensionals to the the card front and there you have it! (hope that makes sense!! In my head it does)

Hope you enjoy!! And thanks so much for stopping by!!

I've been working on some sympathy cards. Not a usual card for me, so I pulled out some Clearly Besotted feathers for the job!

I pulled out the new Stampin Up! in colours for 2014-2015, thought they had a nice somber feel to them! And honestly I wanted to pull them out and give them a whirl!! I also want to tell everyone how awesome the Fiskers stamping press is, I often have a hard time lining up stamps on die cuts but this stamp press gives the flexibility to do it much easier!! Just my side tidbit for the day!!

Sending love

I receive my July Simon Says card kit this week and I couldn't wait to dig in and share with you what I made…This is the first card I finished for this weeks Clean and Simple sketch. I also have some other projects on my desk in my craft studio awaiting me!! So stay tuned!!

For the bottom half of the card I drew a line with pencil where I wanted to separate the paper,  and then versa marked the envelopes on used white embossing powder and heated it up. After I was done getting all the envelopes on there I masked off with some washi tape where I drew the line. I pulled out some distress ink sponged it on with my distress tool. Once that was done I went over it with some old Stampin Up! shimmer paint I found (the sun shifted on me so hard to see that in the pic) mixed with water and dabbed on over the distress ink. Once it was dry I removed the tape, added my sentiment some rhinestones and was done!

Thats all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

stencil love

For the longest time I didn't understand the purpose of stencils in the card making world. I had no desire to ever own let alone use one…boy was I ever wrong!!

While I was perusing blogs the other day and came across this post on Jennifer McGuire's blog, I had a free moment (which seem to be a little sparse now that the kids are home from school) to try it out! Got to say I'm a fan!! What a fun and easy technique that gives so much depth to a project!! Make sure you head on over and watch the video!!

I now have a good collection of stencils piling up in my craft studio that I love!! They are so many wonderful uses for them! I strongly suggest getting one and giving it a try!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

A few weeks ago when I was away I got to craft with some friends. And as per my request I asked for the Fresh Cut Floral stamps and dies to be brought out so I could use them. Had a get well card in mind and thought they would be perfect for them. Now I NEED to get this set for myself! How could I not after making this pretty card!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
