partial die cut mom

Hey Everyone!! Hope everyones good today!! Here some more cards from the latest Online Card Class…I'm really liking these fun interactive cards!

It took  me a while to find the right die, in the video Julie Ebersole said that block letters work the best with this technique…however I don't have any big enough in my stash….but this one actually worked out really well, probably cause its all one  height. i did have to cut out the the space under the letters to make it proper tho!! (easy peasy with that good ol craft knife). I decided to use patterned paper for the card instead of stamping. I had an idea in  mind of how I wanted it to look and this was the easiest way for me to achieve that!!

Anyway hope you enjoy and I hope you had as much fun in class as I did!! Thanks for stopping by!!

botanical colouring

Happy weekend everyone!! I decided to take some me time and attempt to craft. Its been a while since I've had some dedicated time to do that. Got to say it feels good getting back at it again

For todays card I thought I would finally attempt to colour. Honestly this is my very first go at it. I'm sure with more practice I will get better!!! (or I hope to anyway)

Due to the fact I'm not a colourer, I don't really have many stamps that are good for doing so! I recently did a Wplus9 order and loved this botanical set!! Saw many possibilities (most with water colouring if I'm being honest) and knew it had to be added to my collection. I also knew that I wanted to pop up the bigger flowers….

I started off stamping the image and colouring the flowers then cut them out. After that I die cut the white card stock and restamped the image on there and proceeded to colour as well. Once that was all done I too the flowers I had cut out added some wink of stella to the middle and bumped them up with some foam tape. Once that was all together I then added some glossy accents…I also stamped the sentiment on there too!! Cant forget that! Once I completed the white panel I then die cut the black scalped edge piece added I then glued the white card stock to it. I went back and forth on a pink or purple card base and once that was decided I then popped up the black with some foam tape.

Considering it was my first time colouring the card all in all didn't take me to long to make!! And even tho my husband says it looks like a grandma card I'm pleased with the outcome!!! Hope you do to!

get well soon

Happy Monday crafters!! I've been a label making machine the past few days so I had all my die inks out. I decided to (avoid the fact that I've had no mojo) stamp the colours for swatches. Once I had done that I had a bag of these bigger blooms flowers all die cut and ready to go so I put together this cheerful colour pallet for this get well soon card!! Love how cheery it is!

Once  had all the die cut pieces stamped it took me a while to find an arrangement I liked. Like I said before theres been a lack of mojo lately. So I started playing around with a scrap rectangle stitched die I had laying around. And it all came together from there!! :)

Once I had the sentiment stamped I went and arranged the flowers next. After that part was done I knew I wanted to use this background stamp. A weaved basket look with flowers?? Oh yes please!! And in teal no less!! Just like that I was done this sunshiny happy get well card!!

Hope you all have a great day!

so grateful

Happy Saturday everyone!! Hope your day is well so far!! I had a few spare moments while my toddler napped. Pulled some inspiration from a couple places today. To start off Freshly made Sketches and for some colour I went to the Colour Me…! blog.

To get this card started I took a piece of the navy as well as the white paper cause I wasn't to sure which one I was going to use for the card front. But I knew once I inked those dots with the stencil this was the route I wanted to go!! So I taped down the navy card stock taped it down to my work surface then taped the stencil over top. I then took a sponge dauber with the same ink colour as the paper and went over it for that tone on tone look. Once that was done I cut a strip of white cardstock for the sentiment which I also stamped in the navy. Glued both these pieces down to a white card base. I die cut and stamped the feathers 2 with vellum and 2 out of white card stock and stamped again using the same blue for the feathers! I arranged them together then took some white bakers twine and tied them together adhering them with some glue dots.. and just cause took out the wink of stella pen and went over the feathers just for some added glitter. Thats it thats all! Came together much better then I pictured it in my head!! Love it when that happens!!

I love you

Todays card is brought to you by the Papertrey Ink 8th anniversary celebration!! Just loved todays cards and wanted to get in there and make something pretty too!!!

When I started this card all I knew for sure was that I wanted to use the watercolour wonder set to make my own painted background like the new paper coming out!! But thats all I had in mind. To come up with the colour combo I went over to the ColourQ blog to see what this weeks challenge was and the rest came together from there!!!

I stamped all my colours down the front panel of the card. Once I was done that I then die cut the heart out of the front panel. To ensure that I got the words inside the heart I traced the outline of the heart on with a pencil then stamped the sentiment inside the traced heart. Once I erased the pencil marks I popped  up the front panel with foam tape on a white card base I made. And called it good!

Hope you enjoyed!!

Coloured vellum

I've been watching all the videos for the Online Card Class Clean and Simple 4 and yesterday I was able to find some time to play. So hard to just pick on technique to try (in a short period of time of course). I decided to go get me some reinkers and try out the colouring on vellum technique!!

So instead of cutting up card size pieces of vellum I used a whole 81/2x11 sheet and went from there. by doing this I was able to make 5 cards out of the sheet (probably could have made more but I made a goal of 5).

I just love the look of that vellum! Its so pretty and looks so different on each card I made!!! Hope you are all enjoying the class too!

thinking of you

I decided I better pull out the Simon Says Stamp card kit for this month before the new one arrives!!! Its such a lovely kit I can't wait to use it more!!

I just love this colour combo!!! I really need to experiment more with some others but this one is so pretty to me!!!.. This card as per my usual was pretty quick to come together as well! I had my good ol craft mat out and smooshed the distress inks down, two side by side and one underneath. then spritzed it with water, added my watercolour paper to it and moved it side to side ever so slightly. I did want the colours to mix but not to much! Once it was dry I then added the drops of water to it so the ink would react, after that was dry I then added the sentiment and the stars from the stamp set of course spritzed it with shimmer mist adhered it to the card base….

Hope you like todays creation! Thanks so much for stopping by!

shaped cards

Good day everyone!! So I had a moment last night to make some cards! I wanted to get inky so I pulled out those fabulous distress inks and went to town!! Well sort off…didn't get to adventurous with the colour combos but was fun non the less!! I was also inspired to do a circle card after seeing Kristina Werners the other day!!! Which then of course turned into making a square card to!

Gotta say making a different shape card then the good old standard size was fun!!! Will pull out the envelope punch board and make me some pretty envelopes to go with!!

For both cards all I did was apply 3 different distress ink colours to my craft mat, spritz with water and placed the water colour paper in it moved it around a little. Once it was dried I went back in to get some of the add more colour around on there. Once I was happy with all the spots I then took some water to pull the colour out some more…dried it with my heat gun then added the sentiment over top! And of course spritzed it with some shimmer cause you can never have enough shimmer in my books!!!! I then took out my dies and started die cutting away!  For the square card I die cut the sentiment a bit to small for my liking so I matted it onto anther square, and just took my distress ink and added colour around the edges… Put on a few sequins and called er good!!!

go on and celebrate!!

This year I've set some new goals for myself in my world of card making…one is to make some to do lists with different products or ideas I have!! One of the things I've wanted to do for some time now is make a card with stars…Its not a normal go to for me so I pulled out some stuff and went to town with stars!!!

This card was pretty quick to to do! My favourite kind!! I pulled out some distress ink colours I wanted then placed the star stencil over my card stock. Started with the lightest colour and went to the darkest. I wanted to keep it simple and the this big bold sentiment was the best way to add detail without adding a lot more to the card!! I did shimmer mist the card front (can't tell in picture unfortunately). After the sentiment was on there I thought it needed some different stars to add some interest so I took this little bundle from the same stamp set and stamped them in black! After wards added some sequins for a touch more detail, mounted it on some black card stock and this is the finished product!!! Hope you enjoy todays card!

oh butterfly!

I'm a sucker for all things butterfly!! I discovered this while labelling all my dies the other day!! Heres  a new one I recently got from Stampin Up! (available January 6th).

My plan for this card was to make it look like stain glass behind the butterfly die! So I pulled out the water colours and went to town. Used some teal, purple, pinks green and a little bit of grey randomly on the paper (I made a total of 6 cards and they are all a little bit different in colour!) I just the grey panel then die cut the butterfly. Once that was done I then white heat embossed the sentiment underneath it. Once my water colour paper was dry I cut out a square and adheared it behind the opening of the butterfly. The first card I did I added a little wink of stella to the butterfly once I had adhered it. So for the rest I decided to shimmer mist them before had to make the process a little faster!! Once all that was done I added the panel to a white card base.

Hope you enjoyed todays card!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
