so grateful

Happy Saturday everyone!! Hope your day is well so far!! I had a few spare moments while my toddler napped. Pulled some inspiration from a couple places today. To start off Freshly made Sketches and for some colour I went to the Colour Me…! blog.

To get this card started I took a piece of the navy as well as the white paper cause I wasn't to sure which one I was going to use for the card front. But I knew once I inked those dots with the stencil this was the route I wanted to go!! So I taped down the navy card stock taped it down to my work surface then taped the stencil over top. I then took a sponge dauber with the same ink colour as the paper and went over it for that tone on tone look. Once that was done I cut a strip of white cardstock for the sentiment which I also stamped in the navy. Glued both these pieces down to a white card base. I die cut and stamped the feathers 2 with vellum and 2 out of white card stock and stamped again using the same blue for the feathers! I arranged them together then took some white bakers twine and tied them together adhering them with some glue dots.. and just cause took out the wink of stella pen and went over the feathers just for some added glitter. Thats it thats all! Came together much better then I pictured it in my head!! Love it when that happens!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

splatter fun

This week I finally had some time to make a couple cards! I watched Papertrey Inks Make it Monday video and was inspired!! I pulled out some colours and went to town!!! My first creation using this technique was this card below...

I grabbed some bright colours…On the make it monday video they used a die cut inlay. A technique I have not yet tried so I put it to good use! Love how it turned out!! So much fun to  make!

Supplies:
Paper: melon mambo, white
Ink: calyso coral, melon mambo, rose red
Stamps: wonderful words birthday mini
Accessories: birthday die, paint brush and water, sponge daubers

Next up I made this card….

This weeks Clean and Simple sketch screamed out to me! Love this layout…a go to for me! I decided to flip in on its side tho, still using the make it monday technique. However with the water droplets on this card I did at random by putting water on the brush and flicking it as opposed to being purposeful to where I was adding the water. This beautiful colour combo comes from this weeks Colour Me…!  challenge, they blended together so nicely (after a few tries of course)..The sentiment was heat embossed in white then I stamped the feather behind the three window boxes which goes along side the CAS-ual Friday challenge. Then I popped up the coloured paper to five some dimension. So many quick details to give it that pretty look!!!

Supplies:
Paper: white
Ink: bermuda bay, coastal cabana, pacific point, tempting turquoise, versa mark
Stamps: fancy feathers
Accessories: white embossing powder, square punch, paint brush with water

Monochromatic

Hey everyone!! Haven't posted much this week due to having some company in town!! And I've been working on some wedding invitations too…but I did find time to make this card!!

I've really been into water colouring lately…not only cause it seems to be the trend right now, but my husband has pulled out his supplies and has started to paint again! So he is my inspiration for this card, as well as the Colour Me…! for the colour choice!

I used water colour paper and my aqua painter with the old olive ink. Love how it comes out lighter than the actual green!! Embossed my stamp on to vellum and topped it off with some old olive washi tape from the Stampin Up! winter occasional catalogue.

Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by!

Mothers day Begins!

When I was making this card I wanted it to have a soft and serene feel to it as well as some hints of trendy. Not to sure if I fully succeeded, you can be the judge of that I suppose!

The trendy aspect of this card is from the Wplus9 trend watch challenge. I did a little misting and used some really tiny and soft looking sequins as well as I white heat embossed the feathers on water colour paper then did a little water colouring over top!

The colour combo is from this weeks Colour Me…! challenge. This is the reason for the soft and serene look to the card!!

And thirdly I used the Retro Sketches challenge which is where the tag on the card came to be!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!!

beautiful goodbye!

Where to start….I must say I really like this card!! I went over to the CAS-ual Friday blog looked at the challenge and wasn't to sure what I should do. So I dug through my stamps and saw this flower one, one of my favs for sure, then I saw the sentiment that is with this set as well!! I knew it was meant to be. Was still lacking a little inspiration so I went on over to the Colour Me…! blog to see what their challenge was this week. After that this card came together beautifully!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
